Areas Of Service

Manufacturing of Maltese Blinds, Canopies and lately Windbreakers by the most resistant plant Arundo Donax, began in 1984.

In 2016, launched the service of harvesting and shredding as per ERA instructions for this species: (Arundo Donax). The cane reed (Arundo Donax) will be machined or handy harvested, bundled and transported to our manufacturing premises, then pass through a separation process. The Good Harvest will be stocked for manufacturing and reused for blind, canopies and windbreakers manufacturing. The Bad Harvest or Immature Harvest will be shredded in designated machines that will be turned into organic compost and given to
farmers for soil fertilizers.

Tal-Ħsajjar Decorator is also able to remove all the rhizomes, where necessary, after studying the area involved. Sometimes removing Arundo Donax, rhizomes completely will affect the soil and habitats/organism living around.

Tal-Ħsajjar Decorator is also studying the process of making the reed wastage into Solid or Liquid Biofuel such as BBQ tablets or fire pallets and Biogas products.
